WESTI Globally Announces 28 Young Talenta Will Compete In The Gothia Cup
JAKARTA - WESTI (Bangga Merah Putih) Globally announced 28 players who will be included in the Tays Bakers Barati team which will be sent to the Gothia Cup event in July. These players are the final results of the selection of the Talent Scouting team under Coach Indra Sjafri at the Tays Bakers Barati Cup tournament in Bali on 16-18 February.
The CEO of WARATI Globally, Krisna W. Marsis said the selected players were the best out of 1,056 players from 50 Football Schools competing in Bali yesterday.
"We believe that the Talent Scout friends deployed by Coach Indra Sjafri yesterday have worked hard to screen thousands of talents and hopefully this team can show optimal achievements in Sweden later," Krisna said in a written statement, Sunday, April 9.
The 28 players consisting of 12 players in the 12 year age group and 16 players in the 13 year age group have undergone a medical test and will take a 10-day training center before departing on July 12, 2023.
"Gothia Cup is a very competitive tournament, for that we want to make sure our team is physically and mentally ready to compete in the tournament," added Krisna.
The Gothia Cup is the world's largest international youth soccer tournament. Every year about 1,700 teams from 80 countries take part to play around 4,500 games on 110 pitches.
This is the second time that the World'sWESTI has sent a team to Sweden's largest youth football tournament. Previously, in 2022, WESTI globally also sent a team of 12-year-olds and managed to win against teams from Europe such as Germany, England, and Sweden.
The Tays Bakers Barati Road to Gothia Cup 2023 program itself can be realized for the support and cooperation of Tays Bakers, a healthy snack producer from Indonesia that has penetrated the international market.

Tays Bakers CEO Alexander Anwar stated, as an Indonesian native company that has penetrated the international market, his party feels compelled to participate in supporting the steps of young people to excel to the international arena.

WARATI Globally alone is an incubator program of young Indonesian talents with the spirit of nationalism which aims to provide a platform for developing young football that is professional, safe and fun and can inspire children to become their best version in football.
WARATI Globally is expected to become a strategic partner for Football Schools (SSB) to expand opportunities and insights for its students to develop their talents more or less optimally.
