Jabodebek LRT Operates 12 Series, Wait Time Only 18 Minutes

Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Risal Wasal revealed that 12 train series or trainsets of the Jabodebek LRT began operating today.

The addition of this operational trainset is because the maintenance process for several train series has been completed.

"Yesterday we (operated) 8 trainsets. Now we are operating 12 trainsets with five backups. The frequency (travel) is around 160 trains per day," he said at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 21.

Risal said, the addition of this trainset will reduce the waiting time for the train or headway by only 18 minutes.

While the arrival time during non-hour hours is about 44 minutes.

"Hopefully the headway will be reduced to meet the expectations of people who choose the Jabodebek LRT as public transportation on the grounds that the time is more efficient," he said.

Furthermore, Risal explained, the process of dissolving wheels and lubrication continues to be accelerated and is expected to be completed soon, so that it can improve maximum service to all Jabodebek LRT users.

"The wheels are safe. We are nervous, we give lubricant. It turns out that it is one of the concrete problems that can solve the current problems," he said.
