Ahead Of The Nataru Holiday, BUJT Is Expected To Increase Minimum Service Standards

JAKARTA - The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) emphasizes the importance of Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) to be able to implement minimum service standards (SPM), especially ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru)

BPJT Member Elements of the Community Tulus Abadi said that toll road SPM must be carried out by BUJT in order to improve services to toll road users.

"The SPM is evaluated every 6 months. BUJT will report to PUPR regarding the fulfillment of SPM that must be carried out and later we will check in the field whether what is reported is true or not," Tulus said in a public discussion in Jakarta, Thursday, November 16.

"So if it is not true or lacking, we can ask to meet the SPM standards that must be carried out," he added.

He added, in addition to improving services to the community, SPM is also an absolute requirement so that BUJT can increase toll rates.

"Right, SPM is a prerequisite for an increase in tariffs so that if the SPM cannot be met with 8 indicators of this obligation, it cannot be rated up at any time," said Tulus.

According to Tulus, one of the toll roads that has not met the SPM is the existing Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road. In fact, the toll road has been operating for a long time.

"That's why I said the Cikampek Toll Road (can't increase the tariff yet) because of the effect of the MBZ toll road. The toll road has not been able to meet the SPM until now, so it can't go up in tariffs even though it's been more than 3 years," he said.

"But (the existing Japek Toll Road) is in the process of fulfilling and then the increase (toll rate) can be processed," he added.
