The Formation Of The Coal MIP Is In The Hands Of The Coordinating Ministry For Maritime Affairs

JAKARTA - The process of forming a Mitra Management Agency (MIP) to replace the coal Public Service Agency (BLU) is still ongoing.

Director of Coal Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Lana Saria revealed that the formation process is currently rolling and is currently being completed at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves).

"MIP is still in progress, it is being finalized at Marves," Lana told the media quoted on Tuesday, November 7.

Regarding the issue of tax issues that hinder the process of establishing the MIP, he said, it has been discussed with the Ministry of Finance.

Lana also targets the formation of the MIP to be completed and will begin implementing this year.

"(The tax) has been completed. God willing, this year. We also want to hurry," Lana continued.

Previously, the formation of this MIP had been urged by coal business actors.

Not long ago, the Corporate Secretary of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Niko Chandra, in his statement asked the government to immediately form a MIP.

This pressure was driven by coal prices that continue to fluctuate this year so that they also affect the company's performance.

"In addition, the Company hopes that the formation of a Management Agency Partner (MIP) can be realized immediately and have a good impact on PTBA's financial performance," said Niko.
