The APP Jakarta Polytechnic, which was founded 65 years ago, has now transformed into a vocational college specializing in industrial logistics.

The Ministry of Industry itself has an industrial vocational education unit consisting of 9 Vocational Schools, 11 Polytechnics, and 2 Community Academys spread across 12 provinces.

"Since its establishment in 1958, the Jakarta APP Polytechnic has scored 16,960 graduates who currently have careers in various fields and sectors, are active in organizing applied research and innovation in the industrial sector, as well as serving the industrial community," said the Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan in his official statement, Wednesday, September 27.

Masrokhan said, in the learning process, the APP Jakarta Polytechnic strengthens industrial vocational education as a role model for competency-based education that links and matches with industry.

The APP Jakarta Polytechnic also implements a dual system education system, with the learning process for four semesters carried out on campus and two semesters in the industry in the internship program.

"What is special, based on the tracer study surveyed in 2022, as many as 70 percent of APP Jakarta Polytechnic graduates have worked before graduation," he said.

According to Masrokhan, vocational education is not just an option, but a key element in shaping a better future for the Indonesian nation.

Vocational education is a way to build a young generation to become competent industrial human resources, so that it can spur economic growth through the development of competitive industries.

"The key to the success of organizing vocational education is cooperation with industry in producing graduates who can directly work in the industry," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of APP Jakarta Polytechnic Amrin Rapi said that the polytechnic he leads will continue to be committed to producing superior industrial human resources capable of competing in the industrial era 4.0.

"This year, the APP Jakarta Polytechnic will hold the 65th Anniversary of the 65th Anniversary with the theme Creating an Innovative and Collaborative Young Generation in Facing Global Competition in the Digital Age," he said.
