MSMEs In Batam Upgrade, 200 Products Are Halal Certified

The Batam City Government, Riau Islands, noted that 200 products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the area have been certified halal processed foods from the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

Batam City Regional Secretary Jefridin Hamid in Batam, Sunday, said that by having been certified halal for MSME products, it could increase trust and there would be the best quality in the products produced.

"Thank you to ladies and gentlemen who have supported the government's program and registered their businesses to get a halal certificate. Hopefully, your efforts will progress," said Jefridin, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, September 24.

He added that to improve the quality of product packaging, business actors can take part in the training together with the Batam City Cooperatives and SMEs Office.

Jefridin also asked the sub-district to immediately coordinate with the Cooperatives Service, so that MSME actors who have received halal certificates can take part in the training.

"If the halal label already exists, the packaging will be okay. I'm sure the MSMEs in Batam City are cool and advanced. Let's continue to collaborate with the government," he said.

According to him, the implementation of product packaging training aims to bring product performances that attract buyers.

"The goal is for entrepreneurs to find out how good and attractive product packaging is, it also has a selling value," said Jefridin.

The materials presented in the training were the functions and uses of product packaging, as well as the labeling of food boxes to strengthen products produced by micro entrepreneurs.

He also invited the public to take advantage of infrastructure development such as widening roads, airports and ports carried out by the government.

"Everything is done is nothing but to attract people to Batam. Both investors and foreign and domestic tourists. From this visit, people will come and buy MSME products," said Jefridin.

Chairman of the Affuandris Sehati Program Committee hopes that MSME players will be more advanced and able to compete in the world arena in the economic sector.

"There are 200 MSME products that today received halal certificates from the Indonesian Ministry of Religion. Thank God Batam MSMEs have advanced to class for labelity and labeling. We have to be literate about digitization," said Affuandris.
