Coordinating Minister Airlangga Calls Logistics The Key Key To National Economic Growth

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (Menko) Airlangga Hartarto said the logistics system is one of the important keys in supporting the acceleration of national economic growth.

"The key is logistics once again. If the logistics improves, the investment planted will produce better results," said Airlangga, quoted from Antara, Thursday, September 15.

Airlangga said that the government continues to be committed to improving national logistics performance through various policies, one of which is the implementation of the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) as a form of synergy and collaboration of information systems between agencies and business actors to increase national logistics efficiency.

"I strongly support the NLE implementation target whose implementation is expanded at 32 seaports and six airports for 2023," he said.

The results of the implementation evaluation show that some of the implementation of the NLE action plan has had a positive impact, such as the Single Submission Customs Quarantine (SSm QC) which has succeeded in streamlining up to 22.37 percent.

Not only that, SSm QC also saved a cost of 33.48 percent or reached Rp191.32 billion.

The collaboration between the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and the Coordinating Ministry for calculating logistics costs, has shown Indonesia's national logistics costs of 14.29 percent of gross domestic income (GDP) for 2022.

This calculation is carried out in order to measure the achievement of policy targets for improving the national logistics system as one of the supporters of accelerating national economic growth.

The results of calculating national logistics costs will serve as a government guideline in the preparation of policies to increase the effectiveness of logistics systems and national supply chains in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

In addition, these costs are one of the references in assessing economic competitiveness by business actors and investors.

Airlangga encourages inter-stakeholder collaboration so that strengthening logistics and national supply chains is not limited to system integration, but also to infrastructure and human resources.

"Logistics have an effect everywhere, including in the inflation management program. This is expected to be a tool so that in the future we can maintain inflation so that our economic growth can be of high quality," said Airlangga.
