Sepaku Semoi IKN Dam Operates According To Schedule, Ministry Of PUPR: We Work Optimally

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the Sepaku Semoi Dam in the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago could start operating on schedule.

"We continue to work optimally, hopefully (the dam operates) according to the plan," said Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah at the DPR RI Jakarta Building, quoted Wednesday, September 13.

Zainal said that the construction of the Sepaku Semoi Dam was almost close to 100 percent.

"The solution, right, is a little more," he said.

Furthermore, Zainal said that the schedule for the inauguration of the Sepaku Semoi Dam would adjust to the schedule for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) activities.

The Sepaku Semoi Dam is included in the work of Batch 1, which is a contracted package since 2020-March 2023.

This dam in a structure and overall manner has been completed. It is hoped that later it will be able to produce (water filling) in September 2023 and inaugurated around October-November.

The Sepaku Semoi Dam itself can supply raw water needs of 2,500 liters per second, with details of 2,000 liters per second for IKN Nusantara and the remaining 500 liters per second for Balikpapan.
