Sri Mulyani Raises Tax Revenue Target Of IDR 2 Trillion In The 2024 State Budget Draft

JAKARTA – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani made an upward revision to the 2024 tax revenue target of IDR 2 trillion from previously IDR 1,986.9 trillion to IDR 1,988.9 trillion.

This was revealed when the Minister of Finance attended a working meeting with the DPR's Budget Agency (Banggar) regarding the discussion of the 2024 State Budget Draft.

"This (increase) is mainly (supported) by value added tax (VAT) and land and building tax (PBB)," he said at the Senayan parliament complex, Jakarta on Thursday, September 7.

The Minister of Finance explained that other sources of revenue, namely customs and excise, remained unchanged at IDR 300.1 trillion with support from the excise, import and export duties components.

"So that the total tax revenue is IDR 2,309.9 trillion. "This amount is an increase of Rp. 2 trillion from what was proposed in the 2024 APBN Bill (which was read by President Jokowi during the Plenary Session on August 16)," said the Minister of Finance.

For information, the tax revenue target has always reached the target since 2021. At that time, IDR 2,003.1 trillion or 114.9 percent of the ceiling was collected.

Then, in 2022 tax revenues will successfully reach IDR 1,716.8 trillion or the equivalent of 115.6 percent of the target of IDR 1,485 trillion.

Meanwhile, by the end of July 2023, state revenues from taxes had reached IDR 1,109.1 trillion. This figure is equivalent to 64.6 percent of the APBN target of IDR 1,718 trillion.
