JAKARTA - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) states that the current increase in geothermal temperature is twice as fast as the average that occurs every year.

IMF's Managing Director, Kristalina▁Balaiva, said the condition was pushing weather conditions to be more extreme.

"This makes four countries in ASEAN, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand included in the top 10 countries with the largest climate risk levels in the world," he said while speaking at the Indonesia Sustainability Forum 2023, Thursday, September 7.

According to Crystal, the list does not make Indonesia free from risk. He said, Indonesia also has the potential to experience the impact of climate change if it does not manage this risk properly.

Crystal explained that the issue of climate change is the main focus in the work of the IMF going forward. The reason is, the impact of climate change can spread to the economic sector.
