Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati: 30 Percent Of Indonesian Gasoline Still Imports

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati revealed that until now Indonesian gasoline or gasoline is still imported from abroad.

"For gasoline, such as Pertamax and Pertalite, 30 percent are still importing gasoline, so we have to guard it," Nicke said at the 2023 Inflation Control Coordination Meeting broadcast on the Ministry of Home Affairs' YouTube, Monday, September 4.

For this reason, Nicke said that his party will continue to carry out energy independence by mixing several fuel products with renewable materials.

Call it diesel, Nicke said that Pertamina was aggressively mixing this type of fuel with palm oil to produce biodiesel.

Meanwhile, for gasoline, Pertamina also continues to mix with more environmentally friendly materials such as ethanol produced by sugar cane.

"For national independence, it is also necessary to see the gasoline we need to interfere with bioenergy for the long term," said Nicke.

Just so you know, Pertamina is still conducting studies to sell environmentally friendly fuels in 2024 such as Pertamax Green 92, Pertamax Green 95, and Pertamax Turbo.

Pertamax Green 92 is a mixture of Pertalite type fuel with an octane value of 90 with 7 percent ethanol and Pertamax Green 95 which is a mixture of Pertamax with 8 percent ethanol.

"So next year there will be only 3 products, first Pertamax Green 92 with mixed RON 90 with 7 percent ethanol or E7, second Pertamax Green 95 mix Pertamax with 8 percent ethanol and the third is Pertamax Turbo," Nicke said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Wednesday, August 30.
