Humpuss Intermoda And Pelindo Maritime Services Develop Port Services

JAKARTA - PT Humpuss Intermoda Transport Tbk (IDX: HITS) and PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop port services.

"The two companies have agreed to collaborate in developing partnership programs in the field of port services, port support services, and other maritime services within PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero)," said HITS President Director Tonny Aulia Achmad quoting Antara.

He said HITS and SPJM would jointly optimize the business potential and resources owned by the two companies to optimize the maritime sector for sustainable progress.

According to Tonny, given the importance of this strategic business plan and maintaining the interests of related parties and shareholders, the company will inform the development of this strategic plan to the public regularly.

Even in the process of continuing cooperation with SPJM, he continued, the two companies will form a Joint Team that will conduct an in-depth study of the cooperation plan.

"Including the two, they will also explore other potential collaborations that are in line with their respective expertise," said Tonny.

Previously, HITS had also signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Padoma Global Neo Energi, an energy management company including a provider and infrastructure for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Papua.

The two companies agreed to carry out cooperation in the field of transportation services and energy distribution as well as jointly marketing and managing LNG from West Papua.

Responding to the cooperation between the two parties, SPJM President Director Prasetyadi said the Joint Team would focus on evaluating ship services, equipment, and dredging ports within PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero).

He said this study would be conducted based on the priority scale and benefits that would be obtained by both parties.

With the spirit of helping and supporting each other, and referring to the prevailing laws and regulations, he continued, the company hopes to create a strong synergy between the two parties.

This collaboration is directed to achieve mutually beneficial benefits and support the principles of Good Corporate Governance, by prioritizing the principle of mutual benefit and compliance with the provisions of the law in force in Indonesia.
