Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train Tickets Can't Be Subsidy

JAKARTA - The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail Project (KCJB) will soon be inaugurated and commercially operational. But unfortunately, tickets for this transportation will not receive subsidies from the government.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, in the Senayan area, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 22.

"Nothing. Meanwhile, not yet, so if the LRT does have a Presidential Decree, if the KCJB is so far, it doesn't exist yet. But we are discussing with the Ministry of Transportation what the scheme will be. So not yet," he said.

Tiko, Kartika's nickname, said that the determination of the KCJB tariff is under the authority of the Ministry of Transportation. Regarding ticket prices, he said, currently it is still in the discussion process and there has been no final decision.

Furthermore, Tiko said the main focus is currently preparing KCJB to be able to start the trial process in September. He said, various improvements were made at the location including Halim Station which was already 97 percent. Likewise with Padalarang Hub Station.

Padalarang juga progress. Jadi kita on track. September kita uji coba. Kita belum tahu tanggalnya. Itu nanti tergantung Kementerian Perhubungan, bagaimana kita bisa. Nanti full operasi seharusnya di-share. Tapi kita uji coba September," jelasnya.

Tiko admitted that he also continued to integrate Tegalluar Station with Bandung City Station. Later, road access from the station will also be connected to the Studion Gelora Bandung Lautan Api area and the Al-Jabar Mosque.

"It is hoped that later people can choose to go down in Padalarang or Tegalluar. If those in West Bandung get off in Padalarang, if those who go to East Bandung go down in Tegalluar, they can enter the city via multi-modal trains or buses as well," he explained.
