"Hopefully our support can provide maximum results by producing young talents who have a winning soul from various provinces in Indonesia. Pupuk Indonesia together with three subsidiaries, namely PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, and PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang have begun to provide support to PB PABSI in the context of developing and fostering weightlifters starting in 2022.

Pupuk Indonesia Group's support bore fruit because it succeeded in producing talented lifters who won bronze medals at the 2023 Cambodia Sea Games, they were Luluk Tri Wijayana and Muhammad Husni.

PB PABSI Secretary General, Djoko Pramono hopes that the 2023 Senior Weightlifting National Championship can produce new athletes who can later represent Indonesia in international championships. He revealed that the support provided by Pupuk Indonesia and its subsidiaries greatly contributed to the regeneration process of national lifters.

"We would like to thank Pupuk Indonesia and its three subsidiaries for supporting the Junior and Senior Weightlifting National Championships in 2023. With the support from Pupuk Indonesia, we can explore more potential athletes who have not been honed," said Djoko.

Djoko further said that the National Weightlifting Championship, both junior and senior, supported by the Pupuk Indonesia Group, this year, is also an effort to prepare lifters to compete in the Paris Olympics in 2024, and several domestic championships such as the Aceh PON.

The chairman of the 2023 Senior Weightlifting National Championship Organizing Committee, Hadi Wihardja, ensured that the championship this time was very special. The reason is that regional lifters are able to feel the atmosphere of the match which is quite tight to compete with Pelatnas lifters who are the mainstay of the Indonesian Weightlifting Team at the international level.

They are able to try out the abilities of Pelatnas lifters and compete fiercely to become champions. That way, it is hoped that it will give birth to senior lifters from various regions who will later become the mainstay of the Indonesian Weightlifting Team in international regulations," said Hadi.

Senior Weightlifting Championships in 2023 will compete in several classes that will be followed by male and female lifters. The classes that will be competed in the men's section are 45 kg class, 55 kg class, 61 kg class, 67 kg class, 73 kg class, 81 kg class, 89 kg class, 96 kg class, 102 kg class, 108 kg class, and +190 kg.
