Ahead Of The U-17 World Cup, Sarhunta In The Borobudur Area Ready To Accommodate Tourists

The permanent residential facilities (sarhunta) made by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) for the Borobudur Temple tourist area are ready to support the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia.

Head of the Java III Housing Provision Implementation Center (BP2P) Salahudin Rasyidi revealed that the homestay owners have received training in managing the homestay they live in by applying appropriate standards so that later they are ready to accommodate tourists who will come to Borobudur Temple.

"Sarhunta Borobudur is actually very ready, because indeed the owners of Sarhunta homestay have been trained," said Salahudin, who was met in Magelang, Central Java, Saturday, July 8.

For this reason, continued Salahudin, the Ministry of PUPR does not work alone. His party also coordinates with the Ministry? Related institutions such as the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) and local governments.

"The owner of this homestay also has a community and group, there are even homestays that are managed together with the Village Economic Center (Balfondes)," added Salahudin.

Furthermore, he explained, this is an effort by the government in preparing people who have been assisted by physical infrastructure by the Ministry of PUPR, so that the community can benefit from the infrastructure development.

He detailed that there are 821 Sarhunta units in the Borobudur area where there are two Sarhunta models, namely the Sarhunta model which is only an ordinary residence and does not have a business function as a homestay.

"Not all Sarhunta have business functions, homestays have business or economic functions while other Sarhunta do not," he continued.

There are 439 housing units that are categorized as non-homestays where the arrangement aims to have a distinctive uniformity.

Meanwhile, 382 Sarhunta have business functions, both as homestays, cafes, and handicraft arts galleries.

Previously, the International Football Federation Council (FIFA) had appointed Indonesia to host the 2023 U-17 World Cup to replace Peru.

For the U-20 World Cup, Indonesia has prepared a total of six stadiums that have undergone the verification and inspection process of representatives of FIFA.

The six stadiums are Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium (Bali), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya), Jakabaring Stadium (Palembang), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung Regency), Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (Jakarta) and Manahan Stadium (Solo), which are located closest to the Borobudur Temple Tourism area.
