JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk disbursed people's business loans (KUR) of up to IDR 6 trillion in the first quarter of 2023 in supporting the development of domestic micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"Bank Mandiri plays a role as an agent of development to increase financial inclusion in Indonesia by channeling credit in the MSME segment through people's business loans," said Bank Mandiri Risk Management Director Ahmad Siddik Badruddin in a virtual press conference for the 2023 Quarter Performance Exposure in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 18 April.
Ahmad said that bank-only MSME loans grew well in early 2023. As of March 2023, MSME credit debit balance grew 10 percent year on year to IDR 118.1 trillion.
The growth in MSME loans was driven by the distribution of KUR of Rp. 6 trillion to more than 52,000 debtors in various parts of Indonesia and various industrial sectors.
The industrial sector includes, among others, the wholesale and retail trade industry sector of IDR 2.29 trillion, the agricultural sector of IDR 1.75 trillion, the production services sector of IDR 1.16 trillion and the manufacturing sector and others IDR 545 billion.
In addition, Bank Mandiri also helps distribute banking products throughout Indonesia with the presence of 148 thousand Mandiri Agents and 2.3 million branchless agent accounts.
Bank Mandiri applies three main aspects in encouraging sustainable growth, namely environmental, social and governance (LST). Through a series of Social and Environmental Responsibility programs (TJSL), Bank Mandiri focuses on providing various real activities and actions to help improve the welfare of the people in Indonesia, especially MSME players.
