Train Tickets For Eid Homecoming Have Sold 73 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that long-distance train tickets for the 2023 Eid homecoming period have sold 73 percent per day today.

VP Public Relations Joni Martinus said the tickets that had been sold for the Eid homecoming period were 2,236,777 tickets or 73 percent of the total Long Distance Train tickets provided, namely 3,065,404 tickets.

Even so, Joni is optimistic that the number of ticket sales will increase closer to Idul Fitri 2023.

“This number will still increase, because sales are still ongoing. KAI hopes that the community can plan their trips well because there are still quite a lot of train tickets for the Eid holiday period," he said in a statement, Monday, April 17.

Joni revealed, for the period before Eid, passengers were dominated from the West (Jakarta or Bandung) to the East (Central Java and East Java).

"For the period after Eid, it was dominated by passengers from the East (Central Java or East Java) to the West (Jakarta or Bandung)," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the departure date of the long-distance trains, the favorites ordered were 16 April 2023, 98 percent; April 15 and 24 2023 as much as 97 percent; and April 25, 2023, as much as 94 percent.

"If the desired ticket is sold out, customers can choose an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining train schedules that are connecting," he said.
