BKK Padang Tightens Supervision Of Meningitis Certificates For Umrah Pilgrims

The Class I Health Quarantine Center (BKK) of Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), has tightened supervision of the meningitis vaccination certificate for prospective Umrah pilgrims who are leaving for the Holy Land.

"This supervision is important, especially when there are findings of alleged prospective Umrah pilgrims who use fake meningitis certificates and are not vaccinated," said Head of the Padang Class I BKK Mawari Edy in Padang, Saturday.

In addition to tightening supervision at Minangkabau International Airport (BIM), the Padang Health Quarantine Center has also actively socialized the importance of meningitis vaccines for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

His party ensured that the supervision and tightening were in collaboration with the local Airport Authority and Angkasa Pura BIM Branch Office so as not to interfere with the process of departing prospective pilgrims.

"Today we are working with Citilink airlines that will send Umrah pilgrims to the Holy Land," he said.

Edy hopes that prospective pilgrims and Umrah who will depart for Saudi Arabia comply with all government-determined requirements, one of which is the International Certificate Vaccination (ICV) or a meningitis vaccination certificate.

He appealed to the public to ensure that they get the meningitis vaccine before going to Saudi Arabia. The vaccine can be done in a number of health facilities in partnership with the Padang Class I BKK.

For the West Sumatra area, official health facilities that can serve the vaccination include the Mada Padang Elephant Healthy Clinic, Proclamation Kimia Farma Clinic, Semen Padang Hospital, Arum Sari Clinic. Mafaza Padang Clinic, Hermina Padang Hospital, Cicik Mother and Child Hospital, and Murni Elok Clinic.
