Prevent Congestion During Lebaran Homecoming, Jasa Marga Implements 20 Percent Discount Of Japek Toll Tariffs

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk will impose a discount of 20 percent for the furthest tariff for the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. This tariff discount aims to maximize traffic distribution during the 2023 Eid homecoming flow.

Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur explained that the 20 percent toll rate discount only applies to two toll gates, namely the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT) of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road which is heading or from the direction of Trans Java and GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road to or from the direction of Bandung.

Furthermore, Subakti said that this tariff discount is to avoid the accumulation of vehicles on a certain date, especially the dates that have been predicted to be the peak of homecoming and the backflow of Eid al-Fitr.

"We predict that the peak of the homecoming flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Km 66) will fall on D-3 or on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, which is 138,000 vehicles or an increase of up to 154 percent compared to normal traffic (54,000 vehicles) or an increase of 2 percent from the Peak of the 2022 Eid Homecoming Flow (135,000 vehicles)," he said in an official statement, written Thursday, April 6.

Meanwhile, for the peak of backflow, Subakti said that her party predicts that it will occur on D+2 or on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, which is 178,000 vehicles whose increase reached 237 percent compared to normal (53,000 vehicles) or an increase of 5 percent from the Peak of the 2022 Eid Backflow which was recorded at 170,000 vehicles.

"Based on this, discounts are not given at the predicted time to be the peak of homecoming flow and back so that traffic can be distributed properly," said Subakti.

Subakti hopes that this toll tariff discount can attract interest and become a reference for the public to plan a better homecoming trip.

"The period for the implementation of the 20 percent toll rate discount on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road is on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 06.00 WIB until Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 06.00 WIB," he said.

Not only on homecoming, said Subakti, Jasa Marga will also impose a 20 percent toll rate discount on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road in the backflow period, namely on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 06.00 WIB until Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 06.00 WIB.

The following is the 20 percent toll rate discount for the furthest tariff for the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road:

- Class I Vehicles: Initially IDR 20,000 to IDR 16,000, discount of IDR 4,000

- Class II And III Vehicles: Initially IDR 30,000 to IDR 24,000, discount of IDR 6,000

- Class IV and V Vehicles: Initially IDR 40,000 to IDR 32,000, discount of IDR 8,000

"This discount applies to road users who use electronic money. For this reason, we urge road users to ensure their readiness before traveling, including by ensuring the adequacy of electronic money and fuel balances, as well as ensuring the condition of the vehicle and the driver are in optimal condition," he concluded.
