VLC Videoplayer Will Be Available On Apple Vision Pro

JAKARTA VLC media player, the software developed by VideoLAN, is one of the most widely used video players. The plan, the VLC will be available in the version of the DiVision Pro application.

This news came from VideoLAN. In an interview with Lowpass, quoted 9to5mac, VideoLAN President Jean-Baptiste Kempf stated that they were already working on a compatible VLC for advanced Apple-made devices.

Even though it has been developed, it seems that it will take a long time for the VLC to be available on the App Store. According to Kempf, the VLC user base on Vision Pro will be so small that they do not have the motivation to develop the application.

"I'm not sure there are any use cases yet," Kempf said. Apart from the lack of interest in using the application, Kempf also argues that the number of people using this spatial technology is still very small.

Before developing the original application for the visionOS system, apparently the VLC had planned to be present on the Meta Quest device. Unfortunately, the plan had to be canceled because according to him many good video players on the device.

Although the VLC cannot be used on Vision Pro, this application is available on devices with iOS, macOS, and tvOS systems. This application supports many audio and video codecs so that they can play files that cannot be played in other applications.

In addition to developing the VLC for Vision Pro, VideoLAN is also working on VLC 4.0. This version will bring the biggest update because VideoLAN intends to change the whole core of the app.
