JAKARTA - The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) will hold an annual exhibition called the Indonesia Motorcycle Show + (IMOS+), which will take place every odd year.
Previously, AISI had held an IMOS exhibition every two years. Starting this year, IMOS + will be held every odd year, while IMOS will be held in the even year.
"By being held every year, the motorcycle industry can more quickly convey new developments and products to consumers, including electric motorcycle technology. We are sure that IMOS + will make it easier for motorcycle lovers to meet their needs and also encourage an increase in sales of motorcycles in Indonesia," said Sigit Kumala, Head of AISI Commercial Affairs and Chairperson of the IMOS+ Exhibition, in a press release on Wednesday, quoted by ANTARA, June 21.
The first IMOS + exhibition will be held on October 25-29 2023, at the BSD Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE).
This activity is expected to encourage the growth of the automotive industry which has increased significantly after the pandemic. Motorcycle sales in the domestic market will increase again in 2022 after experiencing a drastic decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We hope that IMOS + will become a forum that provides information and education about the latest innovations and achieves the Indonesian motorcycle industry every year," said Sigit.
To note, the IMOS 2022 exhibition managed to record sales of 2,961 motorcycles with a transaction value of Rp. 101.9 billion. This shows a 100 percent increase compared to the previous IMOS which was held in 2018 with a value of Rp. 51.57 billion.
"AISI wants to pamper visitors with various supporting activities during the exhibition, thereby strengthening the relationship between the motorcycle industry and consumers. Therefore, the venue is adjusted to provide more comfort for participants and visitors," said Sigit.
