Not Completely Closed, Night Entertainment In Batam Stops Operation 8 Days During Ramadan

BATAM - Batam City Government (Pemkot), Riau Islands regulates the operating hours of nightclubs (THM) during the month of Ramadan.

The head of the Batam City Disbudpar Ardiwinata said the nightclub closed operations for three days at the beginning, two days in the middle, and three days at the end of the month of Ramadan.

"It's the same as last year. So 8 days of operational closure. Later there will be an integrated team that will comb through nightclubs to ensure that everything runs and complies with this joint opportunity," said Ardi as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 9.

This is stated in a circular regarding the timing of the implementation and services of tourism businesses in the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri.

He explained that the total closure of all entertainment service business activities was the mechanical/manual/electronic, discotheque, karaoke, pub, bar, live music, nightclubs, massage/massage and spa games arenas including hotel facilities, on 3 (three) days before and at the beginning of Ramadan starting from D-1 Ramadan, Hari H (1 Ramadan 1445 H) and H +1 (2 Ramadan 1445 H).

Then 2 days in the middle of Ramadan, namely H-1 Nuzul Qur'an (16 Ramadan 1445 H), Hari H Nuzul Qur'an (17 Ramadan 1445 H).

Furthermore, 3 days at the end and after Ramadan namely D -1 Idul Fitri 1445 H, Hari H Idulfitri (1 Syawal 1445 H), H + 1 Idulfitri (2 Syawal 1445 H).

He hopes that THM business actors in Batam City can comply with these rules because the joint team will go to the location to monitor during the month of Ramadan.

"During fasting we respect each other. We hope that this regulation can be obeyed by THM in Batam. Because there is a joint team that takes to the field," he said.

In addition to these provisions, said Ardi, entertainment service activities can start at 21.00 - 01.00 WIB, provided that they maintain security, peace and order in business locations.

"Tourism businesses engaged in restaurants and restaurants cover their businesses using a cover/gorden cloth during the opening hours during the day during the month of Ramadan," he said.

Ardi said the Integrated Supervision Team would monitor, control and take action against these provisions.

"Every violation of these provisions will be given a warning, suspension of business licenses to the closure of business premises in accordance with applicable laws," said Ardi.
