Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang Starts Flying Umrah Congregants Today

SEMARANG - General Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang City serves special Umrah flights directly to Medina starting August 1, 2023.

Daily Executive General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I International Airport, General Ahmad Yani RM Doddy Hapsoro, said this inaugural flight uses Lion Air with a total of 212 passengers.

"The opening of the Semarang flight route to Medina is an effort to facilitate the people of Semarang City and its surroundings to perform Umrah worship without the need to travel by land or air to the city of Surabaya or Jakarta, which of course can shorten the duration of the trip," he said in Semarang, Java Tenga (Central Java), Tuesday, August 1, confiscated by Antara.

The departure of the Umrah pilgrims will then be carried out on August 8, 2023. Meanwhile, flights back to the country will be carried out on August 13 and 16, 2023.

He explained that the management of PT Angkasa Pura I at International Airport, General Ahmad Yani, is working with relevant stakeholders to provide optimal services so that this inaugural Umrah flight can run smoothly.

In addition, management has also taken proactive steps by urging all travel agents to ensure the readiness and completeness of all requirements of the congregation in accordance with applicable regulations.

"We together with all relevant stakeholders ensure that all facilities at General Ahmad Yani International Airport Semarang are in top condition so that Umrah pilgrims can travel safely, comfortably and safely on their way to the Holy Land until they return to their homeland," he said.

In addition to ensuring the readiness of special Umrah flight service facilities, PT Angkasa Pura I also coordinates with CIQ (Custo Immigration, Quarantine / Customs, Immigration, Quarantine) facilities to ensure the readiness of personnel in carrying out their duties.
