3 Weeks Of Trial, Transjakarta Records 14,222 Customers Try Bus Route Services To Soetta Airport

PT Transport Jakarta (Transjakarta) recorded the number of bus service users with the Kalideres Terminal route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport as many as 14,222 people for about 3 weeks of testing.

The Transjakarta service trial entering Soetta Airport has been carried out since July 5, 2023. After 2 weeks of trials, the Transjakarta bus route to Soetta was extended as of July 26.

Director of Operations and Safety of PT Transjakarta Daud Joseph claims, the number of customers on this route has increased every day.

"As for the highest daily subscribers, there are 733 people who are served by this SH1-coded service," Joseph said in his statement, Sunday, July 30.

From this recording, Joseph hopes that the existence of Transjakarta services entering Soetta Airport will be admitted by passengers to be enough to help them in mobilizing.

"We hope that this service will not only make it easier for employees who work in the airport area, either to leave or return home to their respective homes but also to make it easier for the general public to carry out activities along the route that is crossed," he said.

During the trial period, the operation of Transjakarta buses for the Kalideres Terminal to Soetta Airport was only scheduled for the morning and evening, namely 06.00 WIB-09.00 WIB and 18.00 WIB-21.00 WIB. In the extension of the trial, Transjakarta adjusts operational time according to input from customers.

For this service, Transjakarta provides 5 low entry bus units that make it easier for people with disabilities and those who carry goods when doing activities.

During the trial period, the Transjakarta bus fare for the Kalideres-Soetta Airport route has not been charged or free. However, customers are still required to tap in or tap out using an electronic money card (KUE).

Since the beginning of the trial, the DKI Provincial Government has targeted that this service can carry 2,500 passengers every day. However, unfortunately this figure has not been realized.

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono also admitted that he would evaluate the operation of the Kalideres Terminal-Soetta bus from the results of the trial.

"The name is only trial and error, market trials, route trials. If we didn't achieve the target, we'd think about it. The goal of the local government is to unravel congestion around the airport. We try it with public transportation. But, once again where does the feasibility reach, it can be good, it can be continued, it can be rethought," said Heru on Friday, July 28.
