Menparekraf: Young Business Actors Pillar Of Indonesia's Economic Growth

BATAM - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that young business actors are pillars of Indonesia's economic growth.

"Previously we saw the enthusiasm of mothers, and now they are young people. So we will direct the two pillars of our economic growth. Because they now have the potential to produce economic activity, both at home and abroad," Sandiaga said after attending the Seminar and Local Heroes Award 2023 reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 29.

Sandiaga conveyed that with the birth of a number of young business actors in the world of the economy, they could expand and create new jobs in Indonesia.

"And earlier they were very enthusiastic and they needed to be incubated with full collaboration. If we look like Hanika, Sidomulyo and others earlier, this is a company that in 10 to 15 years will become a big company like Astra, Salim Group. This is the forerunner," he said.

According to him, the government must be present to side with them as young entrepreneurs, because they create jobs.

MSME actors also need to be encouraged by marketing digitally in the hope of increasing turnover with the digital economy ecosystem.

"Hopefully the MSMEs will increase along with the increasing number of tourists and Singapore is a high cost of living, more and more of them will travel in Batam, especially for weekends like this," Sandiaga said. Previously, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno invited entrepreneurs and creative economy business actors to apply the 3SI principle, namely Innovation, Adaptation and Collaboration.

Sandiaga said that his party is still increasing digitalization for domestic MSMEs.

Currently, the MSMEs that have been digitized on the e-commerce platform in 2023 are around 20 million, from the target of 30 million by early 2024.
