JATENG - Sukoharjo Police destroyed 1,503 non-factory manufacturer or Brong exhausts from operations in three months.

"A total of 1,503 Brong exhausts that were confiscated and are now destroyed are the result of operations from May to July 2023," said Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Sigit during the Brong exhaust culling event, at the Sukoharjo Police Headquarters, Monday, July 24, which was confiscated by Antara.

The police chief said that the action against Brong exhaust violations was carried out both during the day and at night, especially on Sunday nights in the Solo Baru area, Grogol Sukoharjo District.

"The thousands of Brong exhausts are the result of Operation Patuh Candi 2023, as well as eyeshot violations that were caught by the Sukoharjo Police Traffic Unit," he said.

The destruction of thousands of evidences of Brong exhaust from the Sukoharjo Police operation was opened by cutting it with iron cutting tools.

The police chief revealed that the use of the Brong exhaust violated Law No. 22 of 2009, Article 285 (1), where everyone who drives a motorcycle on a road does not meet technical and roadworthy requirements.

This, he continued, includes rearview mirrors, horns, main lights, brake lights, pointing lights, light deflectors, speed gauges, exhausts, and tire flow depth, as referred to in Article 106 paragraph (3).

The police chief appealed to the public not to use Brong exhaust, because it could interfere with comfort and order. In addition, the Sukoharjo Police will also continue to carry out exhaust raids.

"With intensive raids, it is hoped that in Sukoharjo Regency there will be zero Brong exhaust," he said.
