Caravan Plane Shooting In Intan Jaya, Police Find Four Bullet Projectile Holes

TANGERANG - Police are coordinating with Smart Aviation to investigate the alleged shooting of the Caravan PK SNO Serial No 208B2375 aircraft used by PT Smart Cakrawala Aviation on Tuesday, July 18. It is known that the results of the temporary investigation found four holes that were suspected to have been caused by bullet projectiles.

"The team managed to find four holes in the left wing of the Caravan PK-SNO aircraft, 208B2375 which were allegedly caused by two bullet projectiles that penetrated the plane," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo in his statement, Wednesday, July 19.

Benny explained the chronology of the alleged shooting incident began with a fighter who carried out a raid from Timika Airport to Sugapa Airport, Intan Jaya Regency. The goal is to transport 7 Brimob personnel.

Furthermore, they resumed their flight to Wagate Airport, Deiyai Regency and Nabire Airport. However, when they landed at Pogapa Airport, Homeyo District, Intan Jaya on July 18, at 08.26 WIT, there were more than 10 gunshots.

"Indeed, when the plane landed at Pogapa Airport, Homeyo District, Intan Jaya Regency, precisely at the End of the Airport, there were more than 10 gunshots," he said

Meanwhile, the Nabiret Police Chief, AKBP I Ketut Suarnaya, confirmed that his party was still investigating the alleged shooting at the plane. The goal is to reveal the perpetrator who deliberately carried out the shooting.

He added that local residents should remain calm and not easily provoked by issues that cause panic. So that the situation remains safe and peaceful during the investigation process.

"It should be noted that there were no casualties or injuries in this incident. The TKP processing team also did not find any projectiles that led to the body. (So) the community to remain calm and not easily provoked by issues that caused panic," he concluded.
