JAKARTA - Traffic on Jalan Daan Mogot, West Jakarta is currently being complained by the public because of a long traffic jam since last Monday, July 18. This is due to the closure of the Pesing flyover.

The Pesing flyover was closed due to repair work in the form of casting in the morning. This condition resulted in motorists crossing the road in the Grogol Petamburan area being stuck in traffic jams and taking longer to pass.

Moreover, currently the school holiday season has ended, so mobility becomes more crowded than the previous week.

This condition was highlighted by the Secretary of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, William A. Sarana. William urged the Bina Marga Office to evaluate the work of the contractor implementing the casting work.

The Bina Marga Office was also asked to move the construction work time to the evening so as not to interfere with traffic performance in the morning and evening.

"The Bina Marga Office must evaluate and impose sanctions on the contractor. Contractors must change their working hours to night so that it does not disturb people to go and return to the office," William said in his statement, Wednesday, July 19.

In addition, William also warned the implementing contractor to coordinate with the local police. Because, if this is not done, it will make it difficult for the police to regulate traffic.

"Yesterday's traffic jams occurred due to lack of coordination, even the police did not know about the work, as a result, there was an extraordinary traffic jam," he said.

"This Pesing Flyover improvement has been too long and has not been completed. There must be an evaluation of why it is long-winded, residents can no longer stand traffic jams there and it is a big loss for those who use the road," he added.
