Land Hoarding Over 4 Kendari Residents' Houses Are Transported, Losses Are Estimated At IDR 100 Million

The Kendari City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that landslides in Mandonga Village, Mandonga District, had been successfully handled.

Head of BPBD Kendari Paminuddin said the joint SAR team had succeeded in transporting landslide material that hit the four residents' houses.

"Until today, it has been handled completely. Immediately cleaned up, handled by the government, in this case BPBD, Social Service, Fire Department, Satpol PP, TNI-Polri, community leaders, LPM and the community directly," he said when contacted, Tuesday, July 18, confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed that 150 rets of landslide material that hit four residents' houses were transported by truck.

"The government has handled the handling, we have handled landslides, approximately 150 rets have been transported. The victim's yard has also been cleaned, including in his house," he said.

He explained that the Kendari City Government had also provided emergency assistance to landslide victims in the form of emergency basic necessities.

"Of the four houses that were victims, one was severe, the three were only normally affected, on the page, not too much was damaged. But overall the loss was estimated at around Rp. 100 million," he said.

Paminuddin said that his party would try to deal with the factors that caused the landslide to occur so that the incident did not occur in the future.

Even so, his party will not install the embankment, because the height which reaches approximately 20 meters to width reaches approximately 100 meters.

"This is a very high cliff so the solution is that we don't think about installing the embankment because it's a budget that is not small, but we want efforts to handle it from above. This is evicted land from taking soil and stone materials," said Paminuddin.

Previously, a landslide occurred in Lorong Dolog Jalan Sawerigading RT 02 RW 01, Mandonga Village, Mandonga District on Wednesday 12 July. As a result of the landslide accident, access roads were closed and piled up the terraces of residents' houses.

The Kendari City Government then moved quickly to hand over a number of aid to the victims affected by the landslide and tried to open road access to lift landslide material.
