"Four members have been convicted, there is sufficient preliminary evidence. Today they were detained," said the regional police chief, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 17.
According to him, the four police officers suspected of committing violence against the suspect in the theft case were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings.
"Whether hitting or something else, will be investigated," he added.
In general, he continued, the joint Propam team, the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation and the Banyumas Police had investigated the case.
He explained that 10 Banyumas Police detainees had been named as suspects in the OK death incident.
In addition, he said, there were 11 policemen who were also prosecuted for the death of the prisoner.
He said that from the results of the Central Java Police Propam examination, four of them were subject to disciplinary sanctions.
The other seven policemen, he said, were sanctioned for violating the code of ethics.
"Of the seven policemen, four people were prosecuted," he said.
The Kapolda ensures that the investigation of this case will be carried out transparently so that the institution becomes healthy.
He also said that this incident was a lesson for the Police in enforcing the law not to violate the law.
Previously, OK's parents, Jakam (51) together with their legal adviser, Silvia Devi Soembarto, asked the Banyumas Police to conduct an autopsy on OK's body and thoroughly investigate the case that resulted in the detention's death.

The request was submitted because when the family opened the cloth, the corpse found many wounds on OK's body, so it was suspected that OK's death was not solely due to kidney failure.
OK was arrested by the police at his home, Purwosari Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas, on Tuesday night for being involved in a motorcycle theft case and the person concerned was put in a Banyumas Police detention cell on Thursday evening.
