MEDAN - Penyidik Subdit III Jatanras Direktorat (Dit) Reskrimum Polda Sumatera Utara melimpahkan perkara tersangka mantan Bupati Langkat Terbit Warin-Angin (TRP) ke Kejaksaan Tinggi Sumatera Utara.

The former Regent of Langkat was delegated to phase II in a criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO). The delegation was led directly by the Head of Sub-Directorate III of Jatanras, Kompol Wahyu Ismoyo and a number of prosecutors from the North Sumatra Attorney General's Office and the Langkat Kejari.

"It is true, investigators from the North Sumatra Police Criminal Investigation Unit have delegated phase II of the TRP suspect to the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office and the process of handing him over to the KPK RI Building," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 7.

Previously, TRP was involved in the TIP case after the discovery of a human cage in his private home in Raja Tengah Village, Kuala District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

Apart from TRP, investigators from the North Sumatra Police Criminal Investigation Directorate also named eight other suspects.

Hadi said that the TIP case carried out by the TRP suspect along with eight other suspects caused three people to die while in a cage.

The eight suspects involved with the TRP are HS, IS, TS, RG, JS, HG, DP, and PS.

"The suspects violated Article 7 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of TIP with a penalty of 15 years plus a third of the main threat," said the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police.
