The East Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team, Lampung Regional Police, has uncovered a case of alleged criminal acts of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in the local area.

Some of the victims who are residents of East Lampung Regency are suspected of being used as illegal migrant workers in Hong Kong and Japan, using a tourist passport and visa.
"From the results of the police investigation, there are two victims who are planned to be dispatched to Japan, while currently there are five residents who have worked as migrant workers illegally in the Hong Kong country," he said.
When carrying out the action, said Rizal, the perpetrator promised the victim would receive a salary of around Rp. 16 million per month, and had to deposit the costs for the overseas departure process of Rp. 50 million rupiah.
"We also received information from two victims of prospective illegal migrant workers, who had deposited money with the suspect in the amount of Rp. 85 million, but until now, they have not been dispatched abroad," he said.
The police, who carried out the investigation process, finally identified and arrested the perpetrators in the Bekasi area of West Java on Tuesday (20/6).
