SATRIA-1 Successfully Launched Into Space From Florida

FLORIDA - The Republic of Indonesia (SATRIA-1) satellite, which was the first internet satellite belonging to the Indonesian government, successfully launched into space at 18.21 local time from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC 40), Florida, United States.

This time was delayed by about 15 minutes from the original schedule which was prepared starting at 18.04 local time.

The launch of this rocket is quite short for about 10 minutes, consisting of two stages and for the first stage it has been completed at 18.30.

For the second stage, currently the rocket is still in space to release SATRIA-1.

After successfully launching, the satellite, which is prepared to provide internet for the people of Indonesia in the leading region, is left behind, the outermost (3T) will fill the orbit in 146 East Longitude (BT).

SATRIA-1 is the first internet satellite owned by the Government of Indonesia and is prepared for public facilities in frontier, underdeveloped, outermost (3T) areas.

Based on the latest study by BAKTI Kemenkominfo in 2023, SATRIA-1 with a capacity of 150 Gbps will provide internet services at 50,000 public facilities.

The internet speed at each point of public service is projected to reach 4 Mbps, this speed is up from the initial calculation in 2018 when the SATRIA-1 project was pioneered carrying a speed of 1 Mbps for each point.
