A Citizen From Singapore Oath Setia Becomes An Indonesian Citizen, Riau Islands Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Reminds To Obey Pancasila

KEPRI - Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Riau Islands (Kepri) held a loyal oath of a foreign national from Singapore named Lim Serene to become an Indonesian citizen (WNI).

The first time the oath of allegiance was carried out in Riau Islands since Government Regulation (PP) Number 21 of 2022 was determined by President Joko Widodo on May 31, 2022. The event was chaired directly by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Riau Islands, Dwinastiti.

"The taking of this oath of office is in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 6/PWI of 2023 dated April 18, 2023 concerning the Provision of Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia," said Dwinastiti at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Tanjungpinang, Tuesday, June 13, which was confiscated by Antara,

Dwinastiti reminded Lim Serene, who had just been sworn in to always love and uphold the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

He advised Lim Serene to carry out her rights and obligations as an Indonesian citizen properly and correctly, fully devote herself to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and become an Indonesian citizen through real work for the progress and welfare of the Indonesian Nation and State.

In addition, he also hopes that what is pronounced as an oath is not just words, but can always be applied as a good and obedient Indonesian citizen to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

"We congratulate Lim Serene, because she has now officially become an Indonesian citizen," he said.

The oath-taking activity was also attended by Plh. Head of the Legal and Human Rights Service Division Hot M. Silitonga and staff of structural and implementing officials within the Riau Islands Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office.
