The Settlement Of The 2022 PPU Case Is Claimed By The Constitutional Court To Be Faster

JAKARTA - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman said that the period of completion of the Law Testing case (PUU) in 2022 will take a faster time than the previous year. Anwar detailed, to decide on 124 PUU cases in 2022, the Constitutional Court will take 2.6 months per case. Meanwhile in 2021, the time required by the Constitutional Court is 2.97 months per case. Thus, the period of completion of the case in 2022 is faster than the previous year," Anwar said in the Special Plenary Session of the 2022 Annual Report quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24. In deciding a case, the Constitutional Court also relates to various parties. Therefore, said Anwar, the completion of a case in the Constitutional Court does not only depend on the internal process of the Constitutional Court alone. In addition to being influenced by parties in the trial process,' he said. Furthermore, he said the Constitutional Court had held 527 trials in the context of the completion of the PUU case and the case of the Dispute results of the Regional Head Election Results (PHP Kada) during the period of 2022. The details of the total trial were as many as 256 panel sessions and 271 plenary sessions. The number of trials consisted of 254 preliminary trials, 145 examinations, and 128 trials for the pronouncement of the verdict,' said Anwar.

Anwar added, in addition to an open trial, the Constitutional Court also held a judge deliberation meeting (RPH) to make a decision. The total RPH carried out by the Constitutional Court throughout 2022 is 230 RPH. (RPH) consists of 118 RPH plenary and 112 RPH panels," he said.
