Ditlantas Jambi Police Will Hold Coal Trucks Exceeding Tonnage

JAMBI - Ditlantas Jambi Police emphasized that they are ready to give strict sanctions in the form of ticketing and detention for coal transportation which exceeds the tonnage when crossing the provincial national road.

Dirlantas Polda Jambi Kombes said there were two criteria for sanctions given to coal transportation that violated the tonnage rules when crossing the national road.

"We are firm with coal transportation that violates the tonnage rules," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 28.

First, if coal transportation exceeds 11.5 tons, the police are ready to ticket vehicles on the spot.

Meanwhile, coal transportation, which exceeds 15 tons of tonnage, will be ticketed and detained by vehicles along with coal cargo.

If the tonnage reaches 15.1 tons, then his party will continue to make arrests so as to provide a deterrent effect for drivers who still violate the coal cargo rules by exceeding the tonnage.

He explained that coal transportation, which exceeds the tonnage, risks damaging the national road they cross, so that road damage must not occur and create congestion on national roads in Jambi Province.

Dhafi also explained that the quota for coal transportation that can pass on the national road of Jambi Province is only 4,000 transportation per day.

Meanwhile, coal transportation operations on national roads in Jambi were reopened on May 2, 2023.

All coal transportation is advised to follow the operating hours rules when operating again.
