BANDUNG - West Java Regional Police (Polda) said congestion on the southern route of West Java is still prone to occuring for the 2023 Eid homecoming flow in the Limbangan area, Garut Regency, West Java.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Pol. Ibrahim Tompo said that his party had also prepared anticipation for the occurrence of congestion in the area. One of the causes of congestion in Limbangan is due to the existence of the people's market.

"The balance is also the focus of security, because there are frequent traffic jams, but the alternative has been prepared by regional units," Ibrahim said at the Cileunyi Homecoming Security Post, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 14.

According to him, officers in the field will later divert the flow in the Nagreg area, Bandung Regency, if the route that crosses Limbangan has experienced congestion.

Ibrahim also explained that in Lebaran 2023, the number of travelers crossing the southern route is predicted to increase, along with the prediction that as many as 123 million people will go home.

In addition, according to him, the peak of the homecoming flow that will cross the southern route is also predicted to occur on D-2 before Lebaran, or on April 20, 2023.

For this reason, he appealed to the public not to choose the homecoming time through the southern route on that date in order to minimize being trapped in traffic jams.

According to him, with the addition of collective leave time by the government, people can have many choices of time to go home.

"Moreover, during the holiday, school children are drawn more advanced, so that this traffic flow can be divided," said Ibrahim.
