Secretary General of PAN Eddy Soeparno responded to the PDI-P which will start opening meetings or communications related to coalitions with other parties after Lebaran 2023. According to him, the target of completing a large coalition is quite difficult to realize if the time is too narrow. Because it takes time to equalize perceptions between political parties. "If possible, it is always possible (until after Eid, ed), the option is always open. But if we want quantification, we target the time, it will be difficult. We can give retailers a target when, but of course we share the perception, it will take time," said Eddy Soeparno to reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, April 13, evening. Eddy then invited the political party elites not to rush into exploring communication related to the 2024 presidential election. Moreover, he said, the time for the implementation of presidential and vice presidential candidates was still very long, so building a coalition had to be carefully considered. "Let's have a lot of time. We are talking that the presidential election is still quite long, so to build a coalition, we have time to have a dialogue to equalize the vision and mission," said Eddy. Nevertheless, Eddy revealed, his party will continue to finalize the discourse of a major coalition by inviting other political parties to dialogue to equalize vision and mission. "Our goal is to justify a national consensus. A national coalition whose goal is to build a common vision and mission to face major challenges, to face an advanced Indonesia by 2045. So that is our goal," said Eddy. Previously, PDIP planned to open a meeting or communication openly related to coalitions with other parties after Lebaran 2023. So far, intensive communication between parties has been carried out with Gerindra, Golkar, and PAN behind closed doors. He estimates that the PDIP will soon announce cooperation with other political parties. He said the meetings would later be held after Eid al-Fitr 2023. Because, Said continued, currently party members focus more on fasting this month. "God willing, what is better is after Ramadan, after Eid. Because the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr will continue to be filled with political frenzy?," he said.
