Head of the Garut Police Samapta Unit, Iptu Masrokan, said 25 personnel were on standby for the Rapid Response Patrol Unit (UPRC). The team was placed in two areas that clashed, namely Wetan City Village and Regol Village.

"We deployed an UPRC team of about 25 personnel to the two areas," he said in Garut, West Java, Tuesday, April 11, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said that previously a number of residents from the two areas were involved in the clashes that occurred on Sunday, April 9 evening.

Even though there has been a way of making peace, said Masrokan, his staff are still taking anticipation to provide a sense of security and comfort for the people in the area. "The current situation is safe and conducive," said Masrokan.

Previously, two groups of residents were involved in clashes that were allegedly caused by being offended by the impact of consuming alcohol.

The impact of the clashes caused residents to be injured, one of which was injured by falling into a ditch and having to get medical treatment.

Garut Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro stated, not long after the incident, the police immediately secured the residents until the situation at the scene was safe again.

Both parties, said the Police Chief, have declared peace, even so, his party continues to supervise and anticipate so that clashes in the area and other areas do not occur again.

"We have made efforts to make peace, they are the initiative themselves," said the Police Chief.
