Easter Celebration In West Manggarai NTT, Police Deploy Fully Armed Personnel

NTT - Police have alerted 200 personnel to tighten church security during the 2023 Easter celebration in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"200 personnel from Brimob, Polres, and Polsek ranks to carry out guarding at houses of worship and patrol areas during Easter celebrations," said Head of the Public Relations Section, IPTU Eka Darma Yuda from Labuan Bajo, NTT, Friday, April 7, as reported by Antara.

The West Manggarai Police have tightened security in churches to create a safe and conducive situation during Easter celebrations.

He said security was carried out in 103 churches, both Catholic and Protestant churches in the West Manggarai region.

The officers who carried out security were joint personnel from the West Manggarai Police, the Brimob Company Unit 4 Yon B Pioneer Labuan Bajo, and Kodim 1612/Manggarai.

"We are sterilizing the church as a fulfillment of standard operating procedures that must be carried out by the police to provide a sense of security, comfort and conduciveness to residents who are performing worship," said Eka.

In addition to tightening church security, the West Manggarai Police also oversees vital objects and crowded places in the Labuan Bajo area.

West Manggarai Police personnel also intensified patrols both morning, afternoon, afternoon, and evening.
