Jakpro Prepares JIS For The 2024-2025 Indonesian League Match

JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) is preparing the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) for matches between local Indonesian League clubs.

Since its establishment, JIS has only just held a friendly match during the grand launching moment between Persija Jakarta and a club from Thailand, Chonburi FC.

"Regarding JIS activities, we are preparing this next season so it can be used for the league," said PT Jakpro Main Director Iwan Takwin at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Commission B meeting, Tuesday, April 4.

Iwan said, currently Jakpro is coordinating with PSSI regarding the readiness of JIS as the venue for the Indonesian League for the upcoming 2024-2025 season, including the feasibility of infrastructure both in the stadium and in the JIS area.

"We have been in intense communication with PSSI and for the past few days we have also come to JIS to see plans for international activities or competitions to start at JIS. We are preparing this in parallel," said Iwan.

Iwan said, JIS' activation efforts as a match stadium were Jakpro's way of increasing the company's revenue. Bearing in mind, in one year, Jakpro must be able to pocket IDR 220 billion for maintenance or operational costs, asset depreciation, as well as generated profits.

Previously, DKI Jakarta DPRD Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi highlighted the operational and other budget requirements for the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), which reached IDR 220 billion per year.

Meanwhile, currently, JIS is rarely the location for football matches. When it became the venue for the Dewa 19 music concert last February, it also caused problems with access and traffic chaos.

Prasetyo asked PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) to improve. Jakpro as a BUMD managing JIS must find ways to increase revenue with various activities held at this international-class stadium.

This was conveyed by Prasetyo when receiving an audience from The Jakmania which also presented the President Director of PT Jakpro Iwan Takwin.

"JIS's operations are big, sir. If you (Jakpro) don't start running (events are held at JIS) from now on, where can the IDR 220 billion come from? Swine pigs can't get that much either. Right? From here we need to try pioneering from the bottom up," said Prasetyo at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Thursday, March 30.

The problem is, reflecting on the chaos at the disbandment of the Dewa 19 concert, the infrastructure and access to JIS were considered not suitable for large numbers of spectators to attend. Therefore, Prasetyo asked Jakpro to improve the infrastructure by involving input from football fans.

"Accommodate (input) sports communities there. What's more, what Jakmania said earlier, (access) the east ramp must be opened. Must be fast, sir, because when the Dewa 19 show was tried yesterday, it was a mess. We have built big stadiums and there are problems, they must be solved," explained Prasetyo.

"Actually, the Acting Governor also supports that it must be completed so that Persija friends can play on their own turf. With such a magnificent stadium, why can't we use it?" he continued.
