Welcoming Easter 2023, 108 NTT Police Personnel Deployed To Guard The Security Of Kupang City

NTT - Polda NTT deployed 108 personnel to assist the Kupang City Police to secure the entire series of Easter 2023 celebrations. The Easter celebration in Kupang starts on Thursday 6 April.

Head of Operational Development Section of the NTT Police, AKBP Allel Simbolon, said hundreds of personnel were to assist security in the jurisdiction of the Kupang City Police.

"On Wednesday morning at exactly 10:00 WITA, it must be held at the Kupang City Police Station for the implementation of their respective duties to secure a number of churches in the city of Kupang," he told reporters in Kupang, Tuesday, April 4, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said security titled the Mana Santa Turangga operation would be implemented in the jurisdiction of the NTT Regional Police starting Tuesday, April 4.

Where in the operation there will be around 165 NTT Police personnel involved in the security operation welcoming Easter which will be held simultaneously by the NTT Regional Police.

He added that the implementation of the Semana Santa operation, according to him, was an operation that was only carried out by the NTT Police for 15 days in order to secure the Easter Day in 2023.

During the security process, he said, there will be approximately 151 large Protestant churches that will be secured, and approximately eight large Catholic churches that are also secured by NTT Police personnel.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Pol Araisandy, also added that a number of NTT Regional Police personnel would also assist with security in the East Flores Larantuka area ahead of the implementation of the Semana Santa tradition.

Until now, he said, security conditions in NTT are still well maintained and conducive.

"We hope that the community can also help maintain security and order in NTT so that our territory remains safe," he said.
