Agency Announces GOT7 Mandatory Military Jinyoung Starting May

JAKARTA - Jinyoung GOT7 will be the next K-pop idol to enlist in the military. BH Entertainment confirmed the news that first circulated today, Wednesday, April 5.

"Artis agensi kami Park Jinyoung akan menerima pelatihan dasar di pusat pelatihan dimulai dari Senin, 8 Mei dan menjalani wajib militer sebagai tentara aktif," kata pihak BH Entertainment pada hari yang sama.

Previously Jinyoung's plan circulated in November 2022. At that time the agency explained that the actor planned to be conscripted to the military but no schedule had yet been received.

Jinyoung's military service has not been determined but he will undergo military service, he said.

Jinyoung is the second member of GOT7 to carry out military service. JAY B was the first to depart as a public worker in February.

Today, Wednesday, April 5, Jinyoung shared his handwriting via Instagram. He wrote, "You must be surprised by my military service news, right? As mentioned, I will be conscripted on May 8th."

"Everyone must be worried, but by meeting you, I feel calmer and more confident. This is why I want to convey this promise when I think about you," he continued.

"I will stay healthy, go through various things, and come back as a better person. So, let's meet soon. Thank you and love you always," concluded Jinyoung.

Jinyoung debuted for the first time through the drama Dream High 2 and JJ Project. He then debuted as a member of GOT7 in 2014.

After his contract ended with JYP Entertainment, Jinyoung focused on acting and joining BH Entertainment.

Since then Jinyoung has starred in a number of dramas and films, such as Yumi's Cells 2, Yaksha, A Christmas Carol, and others.

This year Jinyoung also released his first album titled Chapter 0: With. The album was released in celebration of Jinyoung's 10th year debut in the entertainment world.
