Ministry Of PUPR Calls IKN Progress Phase I Capai 77 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) reported that the physical progress of basic infrastructure work for the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) phase 1 totaling 40 packages has reached 77 percent to date.

"There are two stages of work in the IKN infrastructure by the Ministry of PUPR. For stage 1 of the contract work package before March 2023, as many as 40 packages worth almost Rp. 25 trillion, the progress is currently 77 percent. This is indeed the main thing," said the Head of the IKN Development Task Force. Ministry of PUPR Danis H Sumadilaga at the National Capital Coordination Meeting of the Archipelago at the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, Thursday, March 14.

Danis said, for the second phase of infrastructure work itself, the construction progress has now reached 25 percent.

"Then, there is stage 2, which is an addition to the physical contract package after March 2023 until the end of 2024, which is 49 packages (construction progress) of 25 percent with a value of IDR 43 trillion," he said.

He considered that infrastructure development in IKN was focused on government office ecosystem projects. Because, to support the implementation of the Independence Day Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024 at IKN.

"Because we are in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP). (Development is focused) on the government office ecosystem," said Danis.

In addition, Danis said the Presidential Palace area is targeted to be completed and functional in June 2024.

"So, the Presidential Palace and the ceremonial field with construction progress are currently almost 60 percent and the target is that by June 2024 the palace buildings, ceremonial fields and podiums will function 100 percent," he said.

The Presidential Palace area itself is targeted to accommodate around 8,700 people.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) reported that the physical progress of the basic infrastructure work of the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) Phase 1 totaling 40 packages has reached 74.87 percent to date.

"The progress of the basic infrastructure development of IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan, especially the basic infrastructure work of IKN Phase 1 totaling 40 packages has reached 74.87 percent," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, February 22.

Minister Basuki said that the progress of the IKN Nusantara development was still in accordance with the plan in terms of the implementation schedule and the targets set by the government.

"I think in terms of implementation time and work targets are still on schedule," he said.

Basuki added that his party had started the construction of basic infrastructure in IKN since early September 2022, including connectivity, provision of raw water, sanitation and government offices in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP).

The development of basic infrastructure and government buildings at KIPP is the main capital to build public trust and attract investors to invest in IKN.

"Some time ago a number of groundbreakings were carried out by President Joko Widodo. For example, office buildings, hospitals and hotels. We also welcome the BPK audit process to ensure that all activities at IKN are carried out with good governance," he said.
