Reviewing The Price Of Bapok In The Market, Jokowi Is Happy That The Price Of Chicken Meat To Bawang Has Dropped

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo checked a number of prices for basic commodities at Parungkuda Market, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Friday, August 4.

After reviewing, Jokowi said he was happy that the prices of several foodstuffs that had been observed had decreased. "I am happy that the price of chicken meat has dropped to Rp. 35,000 from the previous Rp. 40,000," Jokowi told the media, Friday, August 4.

In addition to chicken meat, it is observed that the price of shallots has also decreased and is priced at IDR 24,000 per kilogram.

"I checked at three stalls also. The ones who ride a little garlic. A little," added Jokowi.

According to Jokowi, the decline in prices for several basic commodities is a reflection of the decline in inflation on an annual basis, which is currently 4.08 percent.

"So if the field goes down, it does go down. And also the economy is still growing," concluded Jokowi.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the annual inflation rate (year on year/yoy) in July 2023 was 3.08 percent.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, BPS Pudji Ismartini, said that the score was lower than June 2023 which was 3.52 percent yoy.

In the office, Jokowi was accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.
