Ministry Of Transportation Temporarily Stops Jabodebek LRT Limited Trial, This Is The Reason

The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) temporarily suspended the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) limited operational trial on July 17-20, 2023.

The decision was taken after DJKA held an Evaluation Meeting on the Implementation of the Jabodebek LRT Limited Trial, Saturday, July 15.

"In general, trials run smoothly. There are several things that must be done for improvement, including improvement in the software system," said Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 17.

Therefore, he said, to maximize the improvement process, DJKA temporarily suspended the Jabodebek LRT limited operational trial.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay, hopefully things will go well so that people can immediately try the Jabodebek LRT," said Risal.

He added that after the entire software update is complete, a trial run will be carried out before it is reopened to the public.

"We will conduct a trial run on July 21-23, then proceed with a limited operational trial for invitations on July 25 and general on July 29," said Risal.

Previously, the Jabodebek LRT starting Wednesday, July 12 conducted a limited operational trial with passengers.

A series of trials will be carried out in stages until later they are ready to operate commercially on August 18, 2023.

The limited operational trials of the Jabodebek LRT were carried out in stages, namely the first phase from July 12, 2023 to July 26, 2023.

At this stage, those who can take part in the trial are limited invitations from ministries/agencies, journalists/media, and communities.

Furthermore, in the second phase from July 27, 2023 to August 15, 2023, the general public can take part in the trial by filling out the registration link provided by the Jabodebek LRT operator.
