JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) cooperates with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the construction of a single KUMKM database through the complete data collection of KUMKM (PL-KUMKM) which is scheduled from 2022 to 2024. This is done to strengthen the data collection of Cooperatives and MSMEs (KUMKM) throughout Indonesia in order to support the Priority Program of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"This effort aims to produce data that is accurate, up-to-date, integrated, and can be divided, and used between institutions," said Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Arif Rahman Hakim in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, July 12.

Arif said that the complete data collection of KUMKM was the government's effort to realize the MSME Single Database which was further regulated in Government Regulation Number 7 of 2021 concerning Ease, Protection, and Empowerment of Cooperatives and MSMEs, as well as Presidential Regulation Number 39 of 2019 concerning One Indonesian Data.

"Regarding the Governance of KUMKM Data, the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs has just determined through the Regulation of the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Number 7 of 2023 concerning the Implementation of One Cooperative Data and MSMEs through the Single Database," he said.

He added that in 2022, PL-KUMKM activities had been carried out in 240 districts/cities in 34 provinces and received 9.1 million KUMKM data with non-farm and residential criteria.

"With these results, we appreciate the Cooperatives and MSMEs Offices who also support the success of PL-KUMKM activities in 2022," said Arif.

Furthermore, in accordance with the National Priority agenda from the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas that the Complete Data Collection of KUMKM will be continued this year until 2024. However, in 2023, this activity will be carried out by BPS.

Thus, the availability of accurate, up-to-date, integrated, data can be accounted for, and is easily accessible and distributed between central agencies and regional agencies, so that it can be used as the basis for planning, implementing, evaluating, and controlling development.

"I hope that the results of the PL-KUMKM can be used as a reference for the government in making policies against cooperatives and MSMEs," said Arif.

On the same occasion, the Main Secretary of BPS Atqo Mardiyanto hopes that this collaboration can bring benefits to both parties. "This is a mandate that must be carried out by BPS according to the Presidential Instruction in providing a database," he added.
