JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said, based on data from the Quality Plant Information System (Sitamu) during the April 2022-May 2023 period, 255,780 trees have realized planting in the PUPR infrastructure consisting of 147 types of plants.
This is done as an effort to reforestation around the infrastructure location that has been built by the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Highways, the Directorate General of Water Resources (SDA), the Directorate General of Human Settlements, and the Directorate General of Housing.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the infrastructure development of the Ministry of PUPR must always be based on the principles of sustainable development that are environmentally friendly based on the biodiversity of the archipelago.
"Pagar planting also improves the quality of infrastructure, not only as a physical object, but can become a tourist spot and socio-economic development center for people who are environmentally friendly and sustainable," Minister Basuki said in his official statement, Thursday, July 6.

The highest progress of planting trees for the April 2022-May 2023 period is in the Water Resources infrastructure of 168,450 trees.

A total of 7,325 trees on the Trans Java Toll Road for the Solo-Ngawi Toll Road, as many as 350 trees on the national road for the Mawar-Congot Boundary of Central Java-DI Yogyakarta Province and 446 KIT Batang access trees.
Planting trees on toll roads and arterial roads in addition to aiming to beautify the environment and landscape of the region, also aims to increase the area and quality of green open space as an ecological essential function that can be enjoyed by the community.
