PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok International Airport supports sport tourism at the former Selaparang Airport, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) as the location for the 2023 Lombok MXGP Circuit.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok Airport Rahmat Adil Indrawan said the land of the former Selaparang Airport is one of the assets of Angkasa Pura I which has strategic value.

NTB Governor Dr Zulkieflimansyah said the cooperation between the NTB Provincial Government and Angkasa Pura I in utilizing the land of the former Selaparang Airport as the location of the MXGP Circuit is expected to encourage tourism and economic activities in Lombok.

"At the same time, it is the first step to make this place the center of MICE and sport tourism in NTB," he said.

The cooperation between the two parties is carried out as a collaborative and synergistic effort to maximize the existence of the land of the former Selaparang Airport in contributing to the economic growth of the people of NTB.
