JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) signed a new and renewable energy (EBT) development cooperation agreement with construction or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company China Communications Construction Dredging Co., Ltd (CCCC) in Beijing, Sunday, May 21.

The agreement is aimed at accelerating the development of EBT generators as well as agreeing on cooperation in the development of the energy transition in Indonesia.

PLN Main Director Darmawan Prasodjo during a site visit to the company as quoted from a written statement Monday, May 22 explained, currently PLN is accelerating the development of EBT generators such as hydroelectric power plants (PLTA), solar power plants (PLTS), wind power plants (PLTB), and pumped storage power plants in Indonesia.

PLN hopes that the cooperation with the CCCC can accelerate the energy transition process from fossil energy to EBT in order to achieve the net zero emission (NZE) target in 2060.

"The cooperation that has been established between PLN and CCCC is expected to accelerate the construction of EBT generators. By doing so, Indonesia will further accelerate the energy transition process," Darmawan said, as quoted by Antara.
